We are looking for a highly organized and technically proficient B2B/FTTS/Backbone Maintenance Engineer to manage and oversee the maintenance, fault restoration, and new installations of our backbone fiber optic infrastructure. This is not a field role; the position focuses on coordinating subcontractors and internal teams, ensuring high network availability and service quality through performance monitoring and strategic planning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and fiber optic networks, combined with excellent project management and communication skills. You will be responsible for supervising outsourced crews, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and driving continuous improvement through KPI-based evaluations.

What you will do:

• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors for fault restoration and new backbone fiber installations.
• Ensure all works comply with technical specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Monitor subcontractor performance using defined KPIs and initiate corrective actions when needed.
• Act as the main point of contact between internal departments and external partners for network maintenance activities.
• Manage scheduling and prioritization of emergency and planned restoration works.
• Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure availability of necessary materials and resources.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, restoration progress, and overall network health for senior management.
• Oversee subcontractor certification, documentation, and invoicing processes.
• Support internal teams with technical guidance and ensure alignment with operational goals.

It would be nice if you have:

• Solid understanding of fiber optic network architecture, installation, and maintenance principles.
• Proven experience in civil engineering or infrastructure project coordination.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulatory compliance in telecom environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience in managing subcontractors and driving improvements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
